Giving for environmental justice

The BIPOC community within CAPE is growing and we are doing some heavy lifting. We want to acknowledge the value this holds for our community of practice.

It is a gift to have people to turn to that are willing to untangle the complex and difficult challenges presented by environmental health inequities. It is not without tax and toll on our BIPOC community to do this work from the point of view of lived experience. It takes considerable coordination to scale up this activism with education, collaboration, patience, creativity, and advocacy.

As leaders and professionals, we do this work because it is essential for our own well-being and survival, but also for the communities that claim us, and for the generations to come. We give to you the knowledge that grows from our roots and the potential for solutions that is held within these gems. We give generously because if we do not, the status quo will continue to burden our communities unjustly.
