On March 14, 2025, CAPE BC is hosting a dinner, discussion, and screening of Yintah at the Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre.
Yintah is a gripping account of resistance to fossil fuel pipelines on Wet’suwet’en land. The movie also features the Unist'ot'en Healing Lodge, founded by matriarch Freda Huson, who won the 2021 Right Livelihood Award for bringing cultural renewal by leading Indigenous people back to their land.
Following the screening, we’ll hear from Freda Huson, co-director Brenda Michell, and Dr. Karla Tait of the Unist’ot’en Healing Lodge, who will share their experiences and speak on the connection between healing the land and healing the people. We’ll also explore how fossil fuel expansion, including gas pipelines and gas in buildings, threatens both climate, community health, and Indigenous sovereignty.
This event is a fundraiser with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the Unist’ot’en Healing Centre to support their work in land protection and community healing. Donations will be collected at the door.
RSVP is required for entry. The event is capped at 75 attendees, so if your plans change, please cancel your registration to make room for someone else!
Don’t miss this opportunity to connect, learn, and be inspired.
